Dr. Jeanne Ames began her career in the health care field in 1979 as manager of a multi-doctor family practice clinic. She found Chiropractic after suffering from a back injury. In 1994 she began the graduate program at Cleveland Chiropractic Colleges, Los Angeles, where she earned such awards as the Presidents Award, Spirit of Chiropractic Award, Outstanding Student Award, and Student of the Year, and graduated Cum Laude. Dr. Ames has been in private practice in San Diego since 1998.
Dr. Ames provides excellent quality chiropractic care in a professional, yet comfortable environment. Her goal is to get her patients healthy and keep them that way! Dr. Ames is more than just a “quick fix” adjuster. Her approach to wellness is multi-level, i.e., physical alignment, lifestyle, and nutrition.
Dr. Ames uses a number of modalities such as ultrasound and electric stimulation, and she is trained in various Chiropractic techniques such as Diversified, and such Non-Force methods as Activator, SOT, Myokinesthetics, McKenzie, and BioCranial. In this way she is able to choose the technique that is right for you and your individual symptoms.
Dr. Ames has her certification in Therapeutic Lifestyle Changes (TLC) and her practice is a TLC Center of Excellence in Nutritional Therapy. Her goal is to enhance her patients’ health, vitality and quality of life.
Dr. Ames has achieved great success with her doctor-supervised weight loss program, “Ultra Lite,” and she counsels many patients on their weight loss goals.
Dr. Ames was a featured artist on The Carol Duvall Show on HGTV and has exhibited her work at juried exhibits such as the Talmadge Art Show in San Diego, Art Wear San Diego, Holiday Express in Point Loma, and Le Cirque de l’Art in La Jolla. Her fish tale gourds were featured in and on the cover of Expression Magazine. ” Pacific Northwest Frogs” was featured in “The Complete Book of Gourd Carving” by Jim Widess and Ginger Summit.
Dr. Ames and her husband have been in San Diego since 1980. They enjoy sailing, hiking, kayaking, and spending time with friends. They have two beloved, albeit spoiled, dachshunds.
